NEW EVENING COURSES
Two new specialisation courses will start from the end of September:
3D CAD MODELLING and RAPID PROTOTYPING & REVERSE ENGINEERING. The courses are aimed at designers and model makers who work in the design and development of new products. The courses last 60 hours each with two evening lessons per week.

NEW PLASTIC SINTERING MACHINE
September will see the installation of an EOS P 390 in our technology laboratory; this is a new Rapid Prototyping machine for the LASER SINTERING OF THERMOPLASTIC MATERIALS. This new machine, in addition to doubling production capacity, will enable prototypes to be produced very rapidly (around 30% quicker than previous models) and with improved surface quality.

RESEARCH PROJECT 2006/2007
The project "Rapid Tooling with nanomaterials for the construction of moulds" has ended. This research was undertaken with funding supplied under Regional Law no.8 for Industrial Districts regarding the dissemination of technological knowledge for production applications.
The results of this experimental process can be viewed in the "Projects" section of our site.

VIRTUAL DESIGNER
The second edition of the course "Virtual Designer - The design of new products for experts in virtual technologies" will be held in the last three months of 2007. The course is completely free and 12 places are available. It is aimed at young school-leavers and/or graduates who are not presently working.

NEW SPECIALISATION COURSES
From July enrolments are open for the following courses:
VIRTUAL DESIGNER - the design of new products for experts in virtual technologies
CAD for technical design
Advanced CAD for Design and Planning
CAD/CAM for Design and Production
CAD for Footwear
REVERSE ENGINEERING of models using a 3D touch probe scanner
RAPID PROTOTYPING for the construction of models

Specialisation Training Courses

NANOFORM™ 15120 NANOCOMPOSITE MATERIAL
The nanocomposite resin material NanoForm™ 15120 for stereolithography, which can be used with the SLA® 5000, has superior properties, including exceptional stiffness and high temperature resistance, thanks to the non-cristalline nanoparticle technology used. Its mechanical properties include an exceptionally high modulus of > 5000 mPa and a heat deflection temperature (HDT) of > 132°C .

RAPID PROTOTYPING: SLA® 5000 FOR HIGH VOLUME WORK
The SLA® 5000 system, thanks to its SmartSweep patented technology, limits the action coverage to the specific area required, thus minimising construction times. In addition, as it works in layers just 0,05 mm thick, it produces pieces with a very smooth surface, which also speeds up the finishing process. The generous working area (508 x 508 x 584 mm ) enables the construction of very large pieces, or more than one piece at a time. The SLA® 5000 system represents a notable advancement in technology with a solid state laser 35% more powerful than those of previous systems.
